Dr. Becky Owens

Bio

Dr. Becky Owens is a highly qualified educator with a strong academic background and extensive experience in both teaching and administration. She earned her PhD in Education, Leadership for Educational Administration from Capella University, showcasing her commitment to educational leadership. Dr. Owens holds an MS in Education, also from Capella University, and a BA in History from the University of Southern Maine.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, Dr. Owens has taught a diverse array of classes, including Education, History, Critical Thinking, and First Year Experience, at both the Undergraduate and Graduate levels. Her expertise spans both online and face-to-face instructional settings, providing her with a versatile skill set in pedagogy.

Beyond her role as an educator, Dr. Owens has held several administrative positions at the college level, including her recent role as a Financial Aid Director for a college in Colorado. This administrative experience has contributed to her comprehensive understanding of the higher education landscape.

Dr. Owens is not only dedicated to education within the classroom but also at the local and state levels. She has actively participated in her town’s Budget Committee and currently serves as a State Representative in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, demonstrating her commitment to shaping educational policies and practices at a broader level.

Currently residing in New Hampshire with her husband and five children on a small hobby farm, Dr. Owens exemplifies a holistic approach to education and community involvement. Her multifaceted experiences in teaching, administration, and public service underscore her passion for making a positive impact in the field of education.
