Dr. Arlene Goodman’s career journey has been marked by a deep passion for teaching and a commitment to education. For over 15 years, she served as the lead accounting instructor at a brick-and-mortar school in South Florida, where she taught a variety of accounting and international business courses. This experience allowed her to develop a profound love for the art of teaching.
In June of 2013, Dr. Goodman made a significant career shift. Having retired as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a large Not-for-Profit Foundation in South Florida, she decided to relocate to the vibrant state of Arizona. Embracing her newfound ‘life’ focused solely on teaching, she found immense joy in this transition.
Dr. Goodman’s dedication to education is evident in her pursuit of a doctoral degree. Despite starting her doctoral education at a later stage in life than most, she successfully completed a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with a concentration in Accounting. Alongside her doctorate, she earned an Advanced Professional Certificate in International Business. The demanding nature of her full-time job as CFO, coupled with teaching a full load of courses (often three or four per term), and managing her doctoral studies, showcased her resilience and commitment to academic excellence.
Her accomplishment in earning a DBA and an Advanced Professional Certificate is a testament to Dr. Goodman’s determination and hard work. Balancing professional responsibilities, teaching commitments, and family time, she has achieved a remarkable milestone in her educational and professional journey. Dr. Arlene Goodman stands as an inspiring example of lifelong learning and dedication to one’s passions.
