Bio

Dr. Hsiayang Liu, originally from Taiwan, is a scholar with a strong background in philosophy. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Philosophy from National Chengchi University, where his research focused on Chinese Confucian Philosophy. Additionally, he earned a Master’s degree in Philosophy from National Taiwan University, with a concentration in analytical philosophy and philosophy of mathematics.

Dr. Liu furthered his academic journey with a full scholarship from the Taiwanese government to study in the Philosophy Department of Birkbeck College, University of London. During this period, he delved into classical Greek philosophy, ethics, and aesthetics, earning another Master’s Degree in Philosophy.

While his early research interests were centered around analytical philosophy and Chinese Confucian Philosophy, Dr. Liu’s recent years have seen a shift towards hermeneutics, phenomenology, and narrative theory. His diverse research pursuits showcase a well-rounded academic background and a commitment to exploring different philosophical traditions.

Currently, Dr. Liu serves as an editorial board member of the international journal Culture and Dialogue, which focuses on cross-cultural philosophy and humanities. His contributions to the field of philosophy and his engagement with diverse philosophical traditions reflect his dedication to fostering cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
